I agree with you. Often times you will hear ppl speaking about being equally yoked with your mate and assume it refers to making the same amount of money or having the same educational levels. It really means having the same values. I come from a two parent married household and I have noticed the differences in upbringings when I have dated guys who's parent's were divorced, never married or there wasn't a father figure in the household. Those factors need to be taken into account when looking for a mate.

Hey, my real mother was in and out relationship all her life, still is. At least 5 marriages I know about and 5 kids she didnt or wouldnt keep custody of.

It taught me I didnt want to be like that, and I am not.

my ex's parents were and still are married. Some people learn bad life skills by bad example some just do it themselves. There's no way you can predict staying power. Never ever judge a potential mate by their parents, only by who they are.

I am divorced.

My parents are divorced
My ex's parents are together.

That didn't stop him from beating the HELL out of me though!

My husband now is divorced

His parent's are together still
His ex's parents are together (as of then)

But that didn't stop her from leaving him while he was in Bosnia.
