Our perception of reality dictates our happinesses and sorrows in life, but our perception of reality is a choice. We can view a rose as a beautiful flower, or a thorny bush. Likewise, happiness is a choice, but because we believe it's controlled by the world about us, we give up that power, and then fail to see that it was our beliefs that were responsible.
Therefore neither statement is more truthful, because they are both choices. A better question might be, "Why do I choose to feel bad, or to believe my life is bad?"

Yes, feeling bad is relative. A rich teenager, with a new car, a good family, and an unlimited supply of ammeneties can still feel like thier life is falling to pieces if they do not get something that they desire or even if they have a problem with thier boyfriend or girlfriend. However, someone who is poor and starving can still feel good if their perception of the world is a positive one, or if they see hope in the near future.
Many times, people who think negatively, will find that negative things things keep happening to them because they expect it, and they accept it. A self-fufilling prophecy. However, those that think positively will usually find that positive things keep happening, just simply because they tend to notice them a little more, and if something goes wrong, these people tipically try to find a way to fix them... since positive thinkers usually think that there is a way out of a negative situation and are more likely to look and find them.

I feel bad displays more truth. As long as you live you will be feeling. It says my life is bad for the moment. On the other hand your life is a continuium. Full of moments capable to changing how you are preceiving your life or someone elses. What is really important is how you see your life.

The lasting effect is how people interpret it.
I think that might be more important.
You can be really nice to tons of people & someone would be sure to call you a goody 2 shoes. Your intent was 1 thing how other people saw it was another.
You might push someone on purpose that you saw while in your grandmom's company say at the mall. You'd say "Oh my I didn't even see her there" to your grandmom & she'd believe you. Mean while the other person would've known it was done on purpose.
Get it? Know what I mean.

You can feel bad about your life or the direction it is going, but to say that your life is bad is a pretty sh*tty statement. Go see a movie, get some ice cream, adopt a puppy or go get layed. You'll probably fell better and won't question this again.

There is no reality, only our perceptions of our situations. Two people can be in the same situation and react completely differently; thus, their lifes can take a completely different direction. Your interpretations and reactions to life's situations determine your future, not merely what happens to you.

whoa, that is deep thinking. You have some time on your hands!
But good points. And what about people whose lives are good but they think not?
When I was a teenager, I thought the picture of success was to drive a nice car, particularly sports cars, such as a Chevy Camaro. I knew a lady who bought one, the mother of a guy I went to school with. I thought, 'someday I want to be like her.' Several months after getting this car, she committed suicide.
It kindve changed my way of thinking.

I couldn't agree more. If we put our problems in the right context, most of our problems wouldn't be too serious. Most of us can deal with our problems. But it's our own perceptions we have that make any real difference. If we perceive a problem to be intolerable and unsolvable, then it is. On the other hand, if we perceive our problems to be minor and solvable, they usually are.

You feel bad. That is why your life is bad. It is how you feel that determines the quality of your life. You may feel bad but life is good for you. So feeling supercedes reality.
