...and the sea level is most likely going to rise any way... And I'm not even going in to detail about all the money issues and faulting governing going on. What do you all think?

I think it's foolish to try to hang on to that land. It's below sea level and vulnerable to hurricanes.

I think global warming is here to stay and it's going to get worse. Hurricanes will be more intense, and many more coastal areas will be flooded out due to rising sea level.

There are risks involved living anywhere, such as from earthquake, tornado, tsunami, and so on. But the probabilities are not the same. Some places are riskier than others.

Trying to reclaim New Orleans is like building your home inside the barrel of a big shotgun.

People should be able to live wherever they want to. New Orleans is their home. If they choose to return they have to take the risks into account and act accordingly. Homeowners and renters should have flood insurance. If it were my home I would probably want to go back and rebuild.

I wouldn't move back. But for people whowant to, the new levees should be strong enough to be a foundation for levees that are at least 30 feet taller, even if the upper 30 feet aren't built yet.

no..the sea level is rising more every year.. the storms are suppose to multiply each year...why try and rebuild..when here's a big chance of it be-n tore back down?
