You apply the acne medication first, let your skin absorbe it and then you apply your moisturizer which should also be oil free and contain an spf 15 to help protect your skin from the sun since it is more vulnerable with acne medication on it.

the acne med always goes first. then apply an oil-free, hypo-allergenic moisturizer w/ SPF.

but if the acne med is drying out your face so bad, then maybe you don't need to use it as much or even at all. in fact, over-use of acne meds can not only cause your skin to dry, when your skin gets dry, it produces more oil in order to protect your skin- which leads to more acne plus dry patches. not a good combination.

here are some products you need to try (they will reduce acne w/o overdrying the skin):

Queen Helene's Mint Juliep Masque ($2.50 at any drug or dollar store)

Purpose face wash ($4 at Target)

Estee Lauder Idealist skin refinisher and Estee Lauder Clear Difference lotion (both are about $30 each, but WORTH IT)

Neutrogena Oil Free SPF 15 for Sensitive Skin ($5- so good!)

Apply the acne med first, so it can get into your skin. If you put the moisturizer on first, it's harder for the medication to get into the pores.

The acne medication, it's stronger and can dry out your face, then put on the mosturizer so that it can sooth your skin.
