A possible way to fix this is as follows: Go to
All programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore. System restore allows you to reconfigure your user settings to a previous date. Using the directions select a date prior to when there seemed to be a worm moving in your background. It should work. If that also doesn't work then simply try changing your desktop background and use the the TaskManager to close any program you do not recoganize. Access Task Manager by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del.

Uninstall the software which has made it to exist. Otherwise If you feel it is becuase of harware try to remove all devices with strong EM field such as Woofer system, UPS etc. Also use option in monitor to deflux it manually.

I have never seen a virus or spyware that advertised itself like this. Check your desktop settings and make sure you are not set to some strange web page.
