What is the appropriate age for a girl to start wearing make-up?

The old rule was when the girl was of an age to start dating (which, in the age of Cro-Magnon Man, was about 16). The idea was that make-up was a sexual signal.

But, now we have little girls of 5 dressing up for so-called pageants (with more professional and attentive make-up than I wore for my wedding!), so I guess anything is acceptable.

Personally, I feel uncomfortable around little kids (10 to 12) making themselves appear sexually mature. It's creepy.

Most girls start wearing it about 13, some wear a little as young as 11 if their parents let them.
Makeup gives u a better glowin look then no makeup at all.

There is not a certain age. Whenever you feel ready and responsible. Do not apply heavily. I started wearing makeup everyday when I was 12 but it was not heavily. My sister started when she was 15 because she felt she wasn't ready. Whenever you are ready to take care of it. Apply, wash off at night, DO NOT APPLY HEAVY because it is bad for your skin when you are young. Good Luck Hun!!!

I think 11 is when they should start learning how to put it on and not put too much on but 12 is when they can do it on their own and start wearing it everyday.
