can u take the letters off the keyboard purposely?

On most keyboards, yes. Get something like a fork handle or a screwdriver, insert it under the edge of the key and lever it upwards, and it should come off. To get it back on you just put it on and press it down.

I've seen it done at a High School I graduated from. Some students moved the letters around on the keyboards to make some cuss words.

mine has screws, you unscrew it, lift the 2 pieces apart and you can take the letters right out
