That is the big question isn't it, cause something must have created God, or not. Guess it depends how you look at it. I think we cannot grasp the concept of eternity with our three dimensional minds, just like we cannot grap the size of the Universe or the what an nuclei in an atom might be made up of ( everything is made of something, so how small or large or eternal can your mind grasp these concepts) Only when I look at time and our excistence in a circular concept (something that has neither a beginning nor an end ) can I somewhat put my mind around it. But mostly I believe it is impossible to figure out for us here in this three dimensional excistence, and maybe after we pass on and we become much larger than the limitations of our body can we see the truth.
But then again, this is just my opinion. I don't think any one of us mortals can claim to know for sure

There was probably nothing, but we don't know as we are not God. That is why so much controversy over creation, God created the world as if it had existed for many years and man doesn't want to accept it. There also seem to be other dimensions, so we need to ask about that too, and again we are not able to answer the question.
But I believe that where we are located there was nothing, absolutely nothing and God created everything by just saying it and it existed.

That's the big question. No one can answer that. Not even scientists.
If you try to think about it too hard, you get headaches.
Why are we here? What is life? What made the universe? etc.
The Bible said it was a void before the creation... but who made the void?

There was nothing. No planets, stars nor even space itself. Only God and a Host of Angels.
