wow, humanist, look what happens when you let people wear a mask while they speak their mind.
it is never a crime in this country to be vocal about the inequalities of society. i do think, though, that some of the people who answered this question should be bold enough to stand in front of a large, unknown audience and actually speak the words they typed here, unmasked and identifiable.
of course racial inequalities exist in this country, and it is our duty as citizens to be aware of them, speak against them and work to eliminate them.

No, it is neither a crime to be black in America nor is it a crime to be vocal about inequalities. I would hope, though, that you have taken some of these answers to mind and start thinking about what is actually being said underneath the anger.
We all make our own place in this world. Yes, in the past there were definately some inequalities based on race. Today, there is an inequality in every culture, every race, and every gender. Everyone has something to cry about. Rise above all the whining and look at yourself as being a single solitary human being with something to offer. Lead by example instead of inciting even more racial slurs being slung in both directions.
It's life man, move on, move out, and move up.
Peace.

since Katrina affected mostly white communities I think you are incorrect in your reasoning. New Orleans was actually MISSED by Katrina and it was the corrupt politicians that diverted funds to shore up the Levey's. People were told to get out. After all Katrina was a Category 5 Hurricane. You seem to want to overlooks the thousands of square miles in Mississippi and Alabama that were DIRECTLY hit by the storm. It's not a crime to be poor nor black. It it is a crime to keep using that excuse for your own failures.

Katrina was not a crime...no body did that on purpose. And wht inequalities of society are you talking about? Is it the fact that 64% of black america is on welfare or is it that our prison systems are primarily black only to be closely out done by mexicans...oh I know it's that the black population is actively spreading the AIDS virus among their own people, but I'm sure you would like to believe that AIDS was a plant right? Oh and by the way, if white america was affected by Katrina like you dirty southerners, atleast they would have known better then to loot and rape in their own city especially when you all boast about how much you love it! Get an education please for the sake of society as a whole

Katrina was not a crime
but it is not a crime to vocalize your opinions
a lot of people still generalize races into poor or rich classes
its sad really
but yes i believe there was some discrimination in the help given to the victims of KAtrina
and i think its wrong
but unfortunately our government is run by many people who just dont care
and after 9/11 a lot of discrimination and racism became almost to the point of acceptable again
but to ansewer your question no it is not a crime to be vocal about your opinions

sounds like your a racist. Katrina actually killed more whites proportionally than blacks. But you wont accept that.
I do not think it is a crime to be vocal about inequalities. If true it is important to speak out. Yet how much of the inequality is caused by the person himself?
Example. Nagin was horrible, yet he was reeclected. Who is to blame for that reeclection?

let me first say that im far from being a racist or a person who judges another. but this whole white america and black america thing is totally out dated. why does everything have to be about color? have u not heard the expression nevr judge a book by its cover? if there is one thing that i will always instill in my daughters it is never ever ever judge someone by the color of their skin. u judge them by what on the inside not the outside. and if ur that outdated to have to live in the past and hold a grudge then u will never find happiness in ur self or in life. please leave all of the judging up toi the lord above and u will be alot happier.what happen on both occassions were very tradgic and terrible event that all of americans will never forget. so please dont make it another white against black issue.

Katrina was not a crime you moron. It was a natural disaster. And yes it is a crime to whine about inequalities since they dont exist unless you are white. Remember that you get more than equal rights.

US is a democracy in true sense. My impression was that every one has an equal chance to actualize his or her potential. Whatever be the equality index in a society it is the law of nature that there has to be hierarchy in equality.Heard of British PM being the first among equals in the cabinet? or that five fingers are not equal. In a similar fashion every society works out a hierarchy for itself. This is the truth and can not be negated. Wisdom lies in staying within rules and working up the ladder.

What the crime here is to blame everyone else for what happens to black America. Instead of dealing with the problem at hand black America sits back and cries racism and that everyone is out to get them. How about doing something about it instead of bitching about it! Enough is enough!
