Automotive engines are rated two ways. One is RPM revs per minute, this shows how fast an automobile will go. Torque is the power the automobile has. In a car generally people look at, will thew auto break the tires and burn rubber. In a truck it is the pulling power . So it is the strength of the engine and not the speed

When dealing with a car engine there are 2 torque's. The amount a bolt or fastener is tightened with a torque wrench. or the torque produced by the engine as a power rating
