If you mean bestsellers, that's hard to figure, but many are suggested. The Bible is generally acknowledged to be the top bestseller of all time. Here is a list I gleaned from a cursory glance (after the Bible, in no particular order):

Bible
American Dictionary
Uncle Tom's Cabin
Jaws
Think and Grow Rich
Little Women
Huck Finn
Little Red Book (Mao - but because it was compulsory for every Chinese to own it...)
Valley of the Dolls
Gone With the Wind
The child care book by Dr Spock
Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex

This is an unofficial list, I'm sure I messed it up.

Love, Jack.

That's a question of opinion, really. Everyone will have different opinions, and no one will ever agree. I know that many scholars consider Ulysses by James Joyce the greatest book ever written. I've never read it, and am not going to, sounds boring.

Besides, there are too many books out there to just decide on a top 5. It would be hard to come up with a top-1000!

1
Lord of the rings. By J.R Tolkien
It's last through the ages, where as Harry Potter is new, and may not last nearly as long. It is a large scale story however Tolkien never mixes up, and sticks to the rules of middle earth. Where many books change so much in plot and rules that the story is ruined. Its also magical but very believeable.
2
Oliver Twist By Charles Dickens
A very well known tale, one that brings fear and bravery, sadness and happines together. Its a family book, with good vilans such as Bill Sykes and Mr Bumble. Dickens is a classic author and is not given proper credit for his work.
3
Jane Ayre By Charlotte Brontie
Expertly written, truth and mystery in one exellent story. Simple beauty, there is no story quiet like it. And there never will be.
4
Matilda By Rohl Dahl
Magic. 1 word. Magic. Its a fun story about getting your own back against all odds and beating the bad guys. It teaches the importance of knowledge and friendship. Its also very comical, but not so much so it ruins the story, it was not written for comedy, the Twitts is for that. Its for family and friends and lessons.
5
Alice in wonderland By C.S Lewis
Allthough sme may not like his writting style, (myself included) none can deny that this is an imagenitive fantasy, based on truth yet changed, still truth but from a sort of dream perseption. There really is no story that can compare with this. Inkheart By Cornelia Funke, and particularly Inkspell the sequeal are along those lines but in a diffrent way. The world of books, complex and so diffrent from our world. If it was my top TEN books, this would be here at number 3. But you said of all time, so on my opinion and popular opinion i have based this list.

If anyone would like me to answer their question mail me that you want a question answered. And I'll be happy to. As long as I get 10 points for it!
BTW I'm 13.
