It is not a shortage of money that causes poverty. However, this is quite often how poverty is measured.
It is the shortage of the basic essentials for human survival that causes poverty.
Things like how many people live in one household on average (Iraq had one of the highest with about 7), and what you can buy with the average per head per annum income. Also what is the spread of the income about the mean?
I was in India for a while, where the average income is very low compared to Switzerland or USA. However, what you can buy in terms of food, accommodation, and other basic essentials with that income is vastly different.
The measurement of poverty ought to be first
1. Does everyone have enough to eat?
2. Do they have a warm, dry, and comfortable place to sleep and live?
3. Do they have a plenty of leisure activities to keep the brain and body stimulated, and is there sufficient education available to develop the potential of individuals?
Beyond these fundamentals, the amount of money you have is largely irrelevant.
People who are in prison in the UK have a better standard of living than some people who are starving to death in the UK, and elsewhere in the world. It makes you think very carefully about what value your freedom has?

Not possible - The more money there is - The less it is worth
Thats why gold and diamonds are expensive - They are quite rare
The only realistic way to stop poverty - Is to ensure the poor people of the world have a way of supporting themselves
And if they can produce goods ensure that trade of these goods is at fair prices

Hi Gengi$, you seem to be totally ignorant of how the world economy functions. Just one example - the problems facing the world cannot be solved merely by printing more paper money which may have no value when there are no goods and services available for people to buy!

You need to fully understand economics to understand the answer to your question. Printing more money is a recipe for inflation & that only destabilizes the world economy. Poverty is not necessarily about money per se, a big part of it is the distribution & delivery of goods (water, food, living essentials etc.) The world already overproduces food. . .we're just not getting it effectively to where it is needed.

It's only logical to someone who knows nothing about economics. Printing more money just means prices go up to compensate.

Because then everything would just cost a lot more. If we could have more money in circulation, but no gold to back it up, then stores would charge $8000 for a soda.
