Cartoons were originally designed for adults. They were played in the theatres prior to their coming to the television screen. Since that time, they have been edited down for the younger population, but there are some, as you noted Adult Swim, that still caters to the adult crowd.

No one ever really outgrows cartoons. (How many adults read the comics or humour pages?) My favorites are Teen Titans, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, and the older series' of Yu-Gi-Oh. (I'm 39)

Stop? Watching cartoons? Why would you do that? I'm 25 and my other half is 30. We have quite a few cartoon dvds. Bought for the kids of course, yes, the kids. And we have actually watched them more than the kids have. If we get bored with cbeebies, we'll find a Pink Panther cartoon or something to watch.

I think it should be illegal to NOT watch cartoons! My mum still likes some of them too and she's like really ancient.

There is no age you need to stop watching cartoons. I love adult swim and I am a proud and lovely 55 year old woman. Enjoy them, laugh at them, I don't think I will ever stop. I also like the ynuasha series, the Japanese cartoons that continue like a series. If I haven't yet stop, why should you (as young as you are) be worried about it?

I am 52 years old and still watch cartoons. I didn't realize there was a time limit on this form of entertainment. I have outgrown Mighty mouse for the most part but for the most part. Cartoon like Teenage Mutant Turtles are worth the wait if I can get up early enough to watch them. As far as the "night adult swim" you are still a young male. Welcome to the world of soft-porn.

Thats up to you. Even when you're older, you still want to do the things that you used to do when you were younger. Besides, with all the video game systems out there, don't you think that people in their senior years play games and watch cartoons? Just make sure that you just watch them on Sundays and not during the rest of the week and you should be fine.

I think there's a law somewhere that says that anyone over the age of 347 who is caught watching cartoons will be hauled outside to the sidewalk at the base of a very tall building, where a safe will be dropped on his or her head.

If the person survives with only a few birds and stars orbiting around his or her head, he or she will be free to watch cartoons as long as he or she wishes. If the person merely splats, well...

I don't think there is an age when you should stop watching cartoons. I am older than you and I can still enjoy a good Tom and Jerry cartoon. As long as you are not childish in your mind and in your actions you can watch them until you 90 as far as I'm concerned.

Never. Classic cartoons like Bugs Bunny and "The Flintstones" are chock-full of witty, adult humor. However, it sounds like the stuff you're into is just that modern, politically-correct tripe. Cartoon Network is a sell-out.

I just turned 50 back in May and I still love cartoons! I like the ones from the 1930's and 1940's the best.

I don't think that you ever grow out of watching cartoons. Wait until you have kids...you still watch with them and you kinda like the new ones as well as the old cartoons. My kids and I love to still watch Brady Bunch and Happy Days (even tho they are not cartoons).
