Fret not, the Moon, Luna, never was a planet! Although Pluto has been removed, and that is a little sad. I, as most of us on here, grew up with Pluto being a 9 planet staple. It was something you think wouldn't change except in the instance of a solar-system catastrophe. Who'd have thought it would just be an organizational catastrophe. I wonder if the Plutonians are sad that Earth no longer considers them a planet? Perhaps they just don't care.

It will take some getting used to, but better 8 planets in the solar system than 25 or so that would be in it if Pluto was allowed to remain. Sedna, Persephone, and a number of others would be our new neighbors in plantary guide books! Currently, they are just Kupier Belt Objects...

The moon? I thought it was Pluto? I don't think they can remove the moon as a planet from our solar system because the moon has never been considered a planet. Moons aren't planets.

I am so sorry, but it seems a misunderstanding. The moon never was and never will be a planet. Pluto was removed as a planet; reason is astronomers have discovered a lot of small celestial objects close to Pluto, that means all of them, including Pluto are considered as asteroids.

It's not the moon, it's Pluto. The moon wasn't a planet in the first place. Pluto is probably going to be reclassified as a "dwarf planet".
