The main character in "Mysterious Ways" does not fair so well in the end of the book. Any ideas on theme or where Davis was going with this?

In”Mysterious Ways” the main character does not fair so well in the end. What do you think the theme/message was?

I'm not sure what the message was, but Terry Davis admitted that "Mysterious Ways" was written when he was having a bout of depression. That depression may explain the the main characters situation in the book, it could have been a refection of how Mr. Davis was dealing with life at the time.

However, that being said, take a peek at this site: http://www.mnsu.edu/news/read.php?id=old-1032411600 He apparently is in the process of rewriting some of his older books. Read the small print caption under the photograph. The main character may be getting a more fitting ending.

Hope this helps and good luck in finding the rewritten version.
