A lease is a contract. Don't sign one if you don't like the terms. You must abide by it or pay damages to the landlord.
You can leave only according to the terms of the lease. Read through it to see what grounds are allowed. You can sub-let if that is allowed (usually it isn't).
If you are evicted, you will end up with their legal costs as well as the rent you owe, plus you'll have a court judgement against you that will make credit more difficult to get and more expensive - your credit card rates will go way up.
This is a learning experience. Read every contract before signing, and make sure you understand and agree with the terms.

You can just stop paying lease and leave after notifying the landlord that you are breaking the lease. Check your local laws, in most states the landlord is REQUIRED to cover by looking for a new tenant, so if you get sued -- you will only have to pay for the time the room was empty and for reasonable advertisement expenses.

I don't know about in Texas, but in California, or at least in the city of California in which I live, if you want out of an apartment lease, you have to find someone to take over the lease. Or just live in the apt, until the lease ends.

If you get evicted it will not only mess up your credit, but when you go to a new apartment and try to lease one they will say NOPE.
Anytime you sign a contract... Your stuck.
Either pay the rest of the lease out or sub lease it or make up some crazy story and tell them you have to go back home etc... sympothy might be on your side i dont know but they can let you out if they want to... but most often they do not.

First, read your lease now if you haven't already. Know what you signed.
Finding someone to take over the lease sounds like a good option.
Eviction sounds like a really bad and ugly option.

You can have someone take over the lease for you or you can pay off any remaining money on the lease and then leave.

You can sublease or put up the extra money it costs to terminate the lease. Ask your landlord for suggestions
