Essential oils are wonderful healing tools. Please consult an aromatherapist or educate yourself on the use of oils. Worwood (author) has some very good books on aromatherapy. My favorite reference book is Essential Aromatherapy: A Pocket Guide to Essential Oils and Aromatherapy. It's a small, skinny book that lists many oils, proper application, and contraindications. If you can't afford to purchase it, you could always check with your library.

It depends on the oil.

For example:

Pregnancies can be effected by many of them. (Don't use them when pregnant unless you KNOW they're safe.)

Some thin blood, slow/speed metabolism, etc... It wouldn't be wise to use some with, say, a heart condition.

Oils are like meds. You should know what you're taking and how it interacts with what you already take/have.

They are basically referring to allergies, but also trying to cover themselves legally in case someone should ingest the oil and have a reaction due to a medical condition, but as it is also noted on the packaging, you aren't supposed to DRINK it!
