Uh so your first statement is the sarcastic one, or the last two?

I'm down with the new definition.
You can't really downsize the universe, it's as big as it is (and expands anyway). It's not like we are saying pluto doesn't exist now, just that we should call it by another name.

I think that Pluto is a planet. It does orbit the sun, after all, and it has a moon! It does have a funky orbit, and it's kind of brought off track by Uranus and pulled in closer than Neptune sometimes, but hey, just because it doesn't swing the way the rest of the planets do doesn't mean it should be excluded! It may have been sucked into the solar system a little later than the rest of the planets, but essentially it is a planet and part of our solar system. Of course, I'm not an astrophysicist, that's just my opinion.

Plus, and this will sound silly because it is, I'm a Scorpio, and I don't like to think that my sign is ruled by some kind of half planet. Just a thought.

My question is, are they going to change text books now. Are kids going to learn that there is one less planet now? What about their mobiles that they make. I think that these science guys got bored, couldn't find anything new, so they found a little planet to pick on. I personally don't see what difference it makes. Just let Pluto be a planet and not just some cartoon dog from disner that follows Mickey around.

You so right and yet so wrong in textbooks before the 1833 there was another little rock between(still is) Venus and Mercury it was scraped too because of it's size.
Nobody is saying there is no Pluto it is just to irregular and small body to be a Planet.
Take care!

I agree with you. They are afraid that they will have to name hundreds of other planets in our solar system, so they chose the easy way out, even if it meant the killing of Pluto.

Yes, I feel really sorry for Pluto - and for those of us who had to memorise the name of NINE planets! We'll always remember him, though, won't we?

I know it is stupid... I hope some beings come from that "Planet" and say "We live there bub, so it is a planet, despite what you think. It is our home so get over your theories and screw you" Yep they need to pop their bubble for blowing ours all these years...
