Me and my boyfriend are renting an effiency apartment with no refrigerator and we are paying the same rent as the other people but hey do have a refrigerator is it legal?

Yes, it's legal and I speak as a former landlord. Some apartments are furnished and others aren't. Yes, I can charge the same rent whether one is furnished and one is not... you can choose not to rent with me, afterall. Go get yourself a little mini fridge for about a $100 unless you need something bigger; plenty of places offer used refrigerators as well. You can also check with your landlord... he might have a spare refrigerator in another complex in another unit that you don't know about. If I had a spare one, I'd sure let you use it and I wouldn't raise your rent either. But I would let you know that when it breaks down, you're on your own unless I would have another "loaner" for you.

You need to provide your own refrigerator. Yes, it's legal to have a refrigerator, but your cheap-@ss landlord wants you to buy it.

where i live, if it has a kitchen in it, then its required by law to have a fridge, but if there is no kitchen (like a motel) its up to the landlord to either supply a fridge or allow the tenents to buy one. the law may vary where you live
