Uh Pluto is still part of our solar system. We just don't call it a planet now. It is a comet and dwarf-planet. It's not a big deal. As I've said many times before, it's like you were calling a little sister your brother for years and then realized she was a girl and should be called a sister.
Our asteroids, comets and moons are all part of our solar system.

The "New Horizons" mission is going to take another 7 years before it reaches Pluto... so somebody kicked it a hell of a long way out...

They've clarified the definition of 'planet'; that's a good move. We're not going to wind up with hundreds of planets whenever we name all the objects of the Kuiper belt; that's also great.
Now, apparently, that means Pluto is demoted from planet to dwarf planet. Whatever.

Think of it this way - Pluto is no longer considered to be the puniest of the planets, now it is one of the largest members of the Kuiper Belt. It's almost like a promotion, if you think of it that way.

I don't care what how Pluto is categorized. Whatever it was last year, it's still about the same thing this year. I wish that people weren't so hung up over word magic.
