The Golliwog is very non-PC ... I'm afraid you'll have to get a Mac!

(If you REALLY want golliwog wallpaper, there are loads of images here: http://images.google.co.uk/images?sourceid=navclient-ff&ie=UTF-8&rlz=1B2GGGL_enGB177&q=golliwogs

just pick one you like, set it as wallpaper and tile it.)

I really loved my knitted golliwog when I was a kid, too. In my mind he bore no relation to any human of a particular race or colour, any more than my other animals or the talking animals in stories do. The world has gone a little loopy, I think.

OK I'll be the 'do gooder'! Isn't a golliwog racist? Can you think of an equivalent white doll? I can't. It promotes a racial stereotype that conforms to the prejudices of a certain group of white people in the past. I loved my gollywog when I was a child and would not go to bed without him, but as an adult I can see that this image was a gross caricature.

Let's wait for the usual do-gooder idiot to pop up and say "Hey, that's racist!!!"
