I'm still looking for a job at the moment, so hard to say, but if I had the teaching job I want, I reckon I'ld carry on working until the end of the school year, and then maybe in a part time capacity or something. I'm not very good without some sort of commitment so I'm better off with something to do. Or I giess I could do charity work or something. Or am I just terribly naive?

Yes, I'd give notice & work my last week or two because I like and respect the people I work with. I wouldn't want to leave them them short of staff. Plus, when the money's gone, I might need that work reference. :) However, if I was working at a job I hated, then I might not show up on Monday.

I wouldn't. Just because you won the lottery doesn't mean you are to good to work. If I won i would go about my business the same as usual, I wouldnt want people to think that now that i have money i am going to act all snooty toward them. Plus if you lose all that money by buying extravagent things you might want to make sure you have that job to fall back on.

Out of respect for someone that had hired me, paid me - yes I would go in. I wouldn't give the reason for quitting though. I might not even quit - a lottery win can buy many things, but boredom will soon catch up and the money run away.

I am a stay home mommy so I will put my hubby into it... I would say to keep the job...

Health insurance is expensive, things go wrong in any given time. Why give up a job that supports our family?
I would say it would be great to win the lottery but ..... Ignorant to quit a job... Cut back on the O.T., Yes! But keep the job and spend the money wisely! ♥

No, because the more people who know you're loaded - the more begging letters you get. I would still work, cos i enjoy my job - what else would i do? Work isnt just about the money (if you are lucky to have a good job), its important for mental and physical stimulation, social life and sense of purpose. Vast amounts of money just get spent or gather dust in a bank. Its fun for a while until its all done.

I'd go into work Monday morning and not tell anyone. I'd try to buy the company and fire all the slackers and jerks, then promote the good workers, hire a new manager then go travel the world. And donate to charity for those who really need the help.

Yes, just because you have money does not mean that you should just let other people down. No matter how much money you win, you stick to your morals. I know it sounds a bit stiffy! But you need to hold on to your principles, look what has happened to those winners who have been self-centred and looked after number one (yet to see one on t.v say they are happy, always seem to be complaining).

Also, the week at work will help keep your feet on the ground.

Off to buy my ticket now!!!!

No, I would not be ABLE to work because of lawsuit liabilities. I'd call my manager at home and explain what the deal was, then offer to pay for a couple of weeks worth of temps so that all could have a break.
