No.
I'm 16-years-old and I come across a question (homework) that amazingly confuses me to the highest point. Which my teacher probably didn't explain well to me. But never do I, ask answers for my question. I can search information on-line but I want everything in my original work. I don't want to be grateful to someone for my school work. I try my best and stay with As' and Bs' with a goal to accomplish. But like mikeysco on Y! A said "Two sets of eyes and ears are better then one." It's nice for someone to help but either you get people giving you the answers (dead-to-the-point) or smart-talk you. I don't bother.
However, kids should trust their teachers/parents enough to ask. I asked my friends and we did the work together with different answers. It's not about believing in yourself, it's about believing in what you believe. I've seen kids that are 10-years-old on here and I strongly disagree with that. Blimey, there are so many people here who ask questions to insinuate stupidity to themselves. I only ask when my counterparts find it essential to do so.
Having said that, trying doesn't kill.

It depends. Are they searching after they've tried to figure it out for themselves. Are they really searching for help or just an easy way to do their homework? Are they truly learning anything? Here's a little "food for thought": if you're just looking for the answer and not for knowledge, how are you going to pass that test? Can't search Yahoo! Answers then.

If they were stuck and just asking, "Hey, can someone just give me a hint and point me in the right direction, but don't give me the answer?" I'd be ok with it. I think it's lazy and cheating to ask others to do their homework for them. Ultimately, they are cheating themselves - and those of us paying for their education - or lack of it when they end up with lousy jobs or on the dole.

I think it's ok - here's my view:
Realistically, a student can't post every homework question assigned to them. (And if they actually succeed, no one here will spoon-feed them).
Sometimes you get stuck on a set of problems and need a different point of view.
Besides, if a "cheater" takes the time to type out a question and gets the answer, he/she will remember it come test time.

well, no, they should be thinking for selves. however, sometimes it is just to hard, or they don't get it. There is yahooligans for homework help too. My local supermarket chain offers "big Y homework help" daily from 4 to 8 I think with teachers on the phone to help you thru. So if not on Yahoo Answers, they get it elsewhere. We just need to encourage them, their teachers to please try and solve the work yourself...

It ain't no different than asking your classmates like half of us do anyways. If it isn't okay then why is there a homework help section?

They aren't going to learn much if someone is feeding them all the answers.
I doubt if their teachers appreciate this.
