Love how Bush could care less about New Orleans, but does his standard blah blah blah just because it's 1 year later. All I remember is him being a huge failure on the subject. Way to go Brownie, you're doing a heck of a job!!

Bush's mishandling of Katrina was the beginning of our national awakening that he was driving our national bus off the side of a cliff. I pray everyday for the restoration of New Orleans, but I realize that most of the reconstruction will have to wait until after the '06 and '08 elections when the Democrats will take back our Congress and White House. At that point, compassion will return to our national leadership in practice, not in lip service.

Thank God that 43 takes more vacation time than any President in US history. Just think of the havoc he would be wreaking if he were on the job more!!!

I don't see Bush's lack of response to Katrina as a/the defining moment of his presidency. In fact, I see it as one in a string of bad decisions that have helped the world to see him as one of the worst leaders our country has ever offered up. I wonder what other world leaders are thinking when they have to meet with him or otherwise deal with him at all. Oh pleaz!

There are so many who failed during the tragic aftermath of Katrina. However, I believe that no one, including the President, was trying to do a bad job.

The American people care. Never has there been a larger response in terms of charitable giving that after Katrina.

Let's learn from it and move on.

Hey you know what? A lot of people are sick of you whiners. It isn't Bush's fault that you have a douche bag for a gov. and a complete waste for a mayor. The way things worked out wasn't Bush's fault. You have a corrupt state. Money given to you from U.S. taxpayers to fix your stupid levees went to build casinos. Shut up and take responsiblity for your own actions. And stop building cities below sea level and you wont have to worry about flooding. Talk about STUPID>

And what did Bush do to be a failure in N.O., not throw enough money away, or fail to stop a hurricane? I can't wait until our next Democrat president so all you idiots will crawl back in your holes!

Lets see. The mayor did not follow the order to evacuate the people when he was told to nor did he use the buses to get them out of the city. The governor did not follow through with the orders to have the mayor get the people out in time. The governor did not allow the Red Cross nor the National Guard in the area when there was still time to help the people to get out.
The pesident did fail when his people did not follow through when they told the governor and the mayor to get the people out of the city.
Seems to me you only want to see the bad in one person and not the others who are really at fault.
Maybe that is why most of the people do not like someone......they only believe what they want and not find out the facts for themself.

I totally agree. And Nagin is due for one, too. Maybe he can apologize to New York for his ignorant comment about the WTC site. When Rita devastated our area, Bush flew in and spoke for 15 minutes and left. Yeah, we felt so comforted. The Cajuns just laughed and went on with the cleanup - federal assistance or not.
