Narrowed my search down to these two players. They both seem to be good qaulity and relibale but which is more convienient?
As in loading mp3 files onto the players
Can the creative zen v 30gb dowload songs straight from a computure or does it need added softwear, if so is it easy to use on any computure?
Can you download mp3 files from other mp3 players.
Does anyone know of any glitches with theses players?

My reson for buying mp3 is to listen to music with the best qaulity i can and with the most convinient transfer of files. Radio is good as well and storing photos but music is the main reason. Just seems theres so many little problems with mp3 players regaurding downloading music. May want to download from other peoples mp3 players and internett cafes as i will be travelling with it. Also hoping to rigg it up in a camper van for music when parked up in the evenings.

SUMMARY: Zen is good, Sony is bad.

The Zen 30GB has good software and firmware, is easy to use, has a good quality screen (especially for videos) and the playback is nice on the mp3s. It's also compatible with subscription services like Napster. I have one myself.

The Sony looks great, sounds great, it's pretty easy to use, and the battery life is good. BUT (and this is one enormous but) the software is dire. My friend got one, and after installing the software on her PC, it messed everything up so much she had to format the hard drive. So being arrogant, I assumed it was either her crap computer or her crap computer skills. I was wrong - it buggered my one up as well. Both of us have high spec computers, but this software was awful. Look around on the internet and you'll find the same story again and again (the software is called Sonic Stage). It takes an age to transfer songs between the computer and the mp3 player, and was really annoying and picky about which files it would accept.

Creative zen vision:m, definitely. Yes you do need software (it comes in the box). There are a few problems with the software, however. Sometimes, the organiser doesnt work properly, and converting videos takes a long time. Apart from that, its great and simple to use.
Ask yourself this: what do you need? do you want to play videos, and view photos? do you want the radio and record off it? Do you need a microphone for voice recordings? the vision:m has all of these. I think the walkman can just play music, nothing else special. It means it is also cheaper.

I have a Creative Zen Vision M 30GB and it's great. I'd definitely recommend it. Good battery power, excellent sound quality and very easy to use. It is compatible with music subscription services eg Napster, Yahoo music, unlike many others. Music transfer is easy and fast.
