Respected. I respect many people whom I don't actually like - for their opinions, steadfastness and unwillingness to back down in the face of adversity. And a flip side, many people I like I don't respect. As Voltaire said: "“I may not agree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it”; that's respect. - So, um, take your pick.. :)

Respected. You can't be everyone's friend.

The thing is, women are supposed to always be nice. That's why we get a lot of crap - professionally as well as private - when we're not.
It's harder not to be nice because you need to overcome some sort of conditional reflex.

I guess you should strive to be liked, so you can do your job without hostility. But if it's a choice, make sure yoú always get respect for what you did instead of bending to other people's will.

In a professional job, I think being both liked and respected is best as I find it hard, at least on some level, not to have one without the other.

I would rather be respected. I work in the law enforcement field so I know some ppl won't like me just because of that. That is one of things I tell my officers "We may not all like each other on a personal basis but we will respect each other".

You don't have to like me , but you will respect me cause' I'm a BOSS!

Respect is very important in the workplace and it is sometimes hard to have true friends at work. I don't care about being liked at work , but I try to do the best job I can & that earns respect . The 9 to 5 pays the bills, friends can come from anywhere.

On a professional field, i'd rather be respected so that people listen to me and take into consideration what i want...this wont happen if i am merely liked.
