It's the modern material my dear fella. High temperatures don't affect it. They must have done lots of R&D with the modern plastics.

Because it's cheap and won't last long! And yes, I believe some of the plastic will leach into the water, but the manufacturers don't care. They just want the money.

I'm not a chemist, but I doubt the temperature gets high enough to melt the plastic. I don't think there is anything to worry about!

good question. no idea. I noticed some residue in mine. I figured it ws calcium deposits from the water. maybe it is the plastic.

it extremely is the way i've got been making my coffee for some years. it extremely is declared as, "Cowboy coffee". you employ much less coffee grounds and it tastes greater helpful. only pour it via a strainer into the cup.
