Apparently it's 16 but depends on your age really. Most older ladies are fuller figured than 18 year old's.

It must be a 16/18/20 cos no matter what shop I go to, that's the size that always goes first. And in sales, there are always loads of 10s, 12s, 14s but not many larger sizes untill you reach 24s.

I'm aged over 40 and a size 14.
I'm also bigger than my mother was.
Factoid (not sure how true it is) In 1950, the average UK woman's waist size was 25" now in 2006 it has grown to 33" - I'm somewhere in between.

Size 16. Although I saw a documentary a while back on the issue and it claimed that many of the women measured after stating their size were lying/deluded; so it could actually be bigger.
