If you don't mind the snowbirds in the winter it's not bad @ all. Just remember not to drink water out of the tap though...you will see water stations strewn all over the city. Algodones is the border town near that and it's a wonderful sleepy little Mexican border town. There is a place there that used to sell tacos for 25 cents and beers for a dollar.....the BEST I've ever tasted! The history of Yuma is wonderful also as mentioned above and a little known fact is that one of the best tattoo artists in the country lives and works there! Have fun!

Very nice but cold in the desert in winter. Gas is high by the inter-state due to so many snowbirds in the rec parks. Go into town to buy gas as its cheaper. Also visit the Yuma territortorial prison, great place to read history and to gaze out at what was it like then. See the graveyard and read the bookings list of convicts

Yes ! The people are very friendly. Many will invite you to share a motel room with them. If you know how to bend Tacos it is so easy to get a job in Yuma .
