I've tried just about everything, but next week I have an appointment with a hypnotist. My older bro had it done a year ago and he was a 2 pack a day smoker and hasn't lit up since,it's gonna cost me about $40 (which is about 2 cartons worth) and it worked for my bro & his wife so mabye it'll work for you (&me, wish me luck)

Believe me, I'm not being smart. The only tried and true way to stop smoking is to stop. Cold turkey. That's all. My late husband stopped cold turkey and never smoked again. And anyone I know that smoked that's the only way they could do it. AND, here's a little something that might help: add up how much you spend on cigarettes a day, then multiply it by 365 days. When you see how much money you are wasting, that alone should make you stop! Good luck!

I've smoked for nearly 10 years 20 (or more) per day... tried to quit loads of times but couldn't stay away from the cigs... Six months ago I tried Allen Carr's "Easy way to stop smoking" and I have to say IT REALLY WORKS. Doesn't do magic, doesn't say it's easy but helps you realize what is going to happen to your body and your mind after you've quit and that makes you stronger. That book helps you realize how stupid you (as if all of us smokers) were to even start!
Good luck with your quitting!

i think you would definately start off slowing down first. i myself tried nicorette and nicoderm patch, all that gave me was bad dreams. there for just slow down on the intake of cigarettes, try to go a lighter brand. then keep going down from there. once you get to u ltra lights you'll realize err im not really craving it that much after all, and it slowly dies down. other than that have one here and there when you have a drink out in town. you have to slow down first before you decide to quit.

Yep, first try to smoke less than you normally do.
say lessen your smoking from 10 cigerattes to 8 and when you get use to it reduce it further.
Dont take any medicine for this, thats really a waste of bucks and nothing else. My dad have tried a lot of them, but of no avail.
So just try to control yourself, keep reducing your daily cig. and you will definitely quit in near future.
Good luck
