Brainboy--It's ironic you go by that name when you are so dumb. Like as a woman I am incapable of appreciating talented lyricists. I know that Bob Dylan and Roger Waters are the best lyricists ever. Many women like the older bands. I'm twenty-one years old and I used to listen to nothing but the older stuff. I listen to newer stuff now because I have heard just about every good song made from the sixties through the nineties like, a hundred times. Not to say I don't listen to the older stuff still, in fact, most of my 300+ CD's were originally released on vinyl. And no, the newer stuff I listen to isn't lip syncing boy bands and bubbly blonde booty shakers, it's Rammstein, Skinny Puppy, The White Stripes, you know, the good stuff. Women don't like older bands? I borrowed (snatched, whatever) my dad's Gold and Platinum music of the sixties through early nineties CD collection and his vinyl record collection before I moved out.

I don't think that's being really fair. I'm a girl and pretty much all I listen to is stuff like The Beatles, AC DC, Metallica, Queen. You know, stuff like that. Maybe you just don't know a lot of girls that listen to the sort of music you do.

that is a general statement. it is true that GENERALLY guys tend to go for older band, and girls listen whatevers on the radio. but im a girl, and i know OF the newstuff that comes out, but i listen to older bands.. i dont know why that is, maybe because guys tend to be more into music than girls... and older bands are much better, and have soul in them rather than the new trash.. no offens.. some of it is good... but yeah im a girl, and i guess i dont quite click with this stereotyping

I'm a girl and i listen to both old and new bands.. Not all girls are the same. But New rock and metal music is just as good as old.

Guys generally have a better taste in music. We accept older influences and appreciate both lyrics and instrument playing more, while girls, especially younger, buy into commercialization and peer product.

girls like to listen to new bands cuz we just get tired of the band we listen and then the new band sounds much better than the band we used to listen

Not true for me! I love classic rock and hard rock, love Bob and ACDC all the GOOD music! New music today sucks my will to live. It has no soul.
