needing a stent is an indication of an artery being partly blocked, drinking heavily is dehydrating aand will thicken your blood making it more likely that a clot will form at the site of the narrowing

No prob not a good idea especially in smoking is involved. Depending on the severity of the blockage her heart is not getting enough blood to it's muscle and this can lead to a heart attack. Anything that raises blood pressure is going to expedite that. lay off the booze and smoking

Sounds to me that there are three scenarios here:
1) She doesn't have medical insurance to cover the procedure and is drowning her sorrows with booze.
or
2) She has med insurance but is in denial due to alcoholism.
or
3) She is a complete idiot that is an alcoholic.

It sounds like she's jeopardizing her health... and she's in deep denial.

If a person is drinking that much, in my opinion, he or she is just trying to self-medicate a much deeper emotional issue.

It takes courage to look at those emotions... but her life will be much richer for it.

When she's ready (you CANNOT make her), she may want to give a 12 step program a try.

Good luck!

Sounds to me like that wouldn't really be recommended for anyone. That's a lot of alcohol. But I would especially think that it would be worse for someone with health problems.
