Never give a child that young juice of any kind...watered down or not. Try a bit of Nursey water...only an ounce. Also, if the baby is on formula it maybe the Iron causing the constipation...try switching to low iron formula. If the constipation continues past a few days more, then I suggest a suppository. Only once, and only for a few mins. I

Can you provide more details as to why you think your baby is constipated? Some babies don't poop very much, and that may be what's going on with yours. If the baby's poop is hard and dry, the baby is constipated. If the baby is pooping only a couple times a week or less but the stool is still soft and unformed, it's not constipation. Further details would allow for better answers in this case.

1/2 teaspoon of Karol syrup in the baby's bottle ... or 1/2 prune juice 1/2 water in a bottle ...when the baby gets old enough to drink juice use 1/3 of the scoop of benifiber in a 8oz cup of juice.
also when the baby acts like they have to go take the diaper off lift the baby's legs up 3 fingers down from the belly button start massaging and that should work it out ... make sure you have a towel under the baby's bottom
if you use a suppository only use 1/4 for a baby that small and that is a last resort.

How long has it been between poops? While usually fairly frequent, it is not unusual for a newborn to go days or even a week without pooping. As long as there are still plenty of WET diapers, the baby is gaining weight well, and the poop that he/she is still runny in consistency, you don't need to worry or do anything.
Are you breastfeeding? Breastfed babies have less constipation because breastmilk is easier for them to digest than formula or solids. If you are breastfeeding, there might be something that you are eating that is causing abdominal discomfort, like dairy or wheat. Make sure you are getting lots of water.
I don't know much about formula feeding- except that their poops tend to be less frequent. I would imaging changing formula might help.
If baby is having discomfort, try a warm bath with a nice baby massage after. Gently rub his or her tummy in a clockwise direction using olive oil or another baby friendly oil or lotion. You can also "pedal" his legs like he;s riding a bicycle.

The formula is what constipates them.I always put a teaspoon of Karo syrup in their bottle.Old remedy my mother taught me.This sounds bad but if the baby is really uncomfortable you can buy glycerine suppositories.Put the very tip end of it in the babys hiney and she'll be able to use the bathroom.Like I said it sounds terrible but it won't harm the baby and will make him/her feel so much better.

If you are breastfeeding, the baby really shouldn't be constipated. I would contact the doctor. If you are formula feeding, you can add some prune juice (not apple) to the formula. DO NOT use laxitives. Contact your pediatrician to ask for other help.

I'd talk to your doctor to see if your baby needs a different kind of formula, but at two weeks old your not supposed to give them juice yet. Your doctor would know best what to do, I wouldn't take strangers advise on this, it your newborn baby, too important to be guessing. Call your doctor!

Lots and Lots of water. My 2 month old grandaughter just went through this and they put a tiny bit of sugar in the water to give it some flavor and she drank it up. She was better the next day. Good Luck.

as mentioned above, infants can go up to a week without having a BM. It is normal for some babies as long as it is soft (creamy) and not humanlike.
Try moving his legs and massage his tummy.
Dont give him anything, he is too young. Talk to a doctor if you see signs of contipation.

Give your baby boiled water after or before a feed. Don't worry if he/she doesn't seem to like it the child will get used to it if you persist, if constipstion carries on ask your health visitor or your doctor. Mother of 4 children.
