The boat needs to hold 4 people comfortably. I'd like to spend no more than 100 euros for about a two hour tour. English speaking is preferred. I'd like someone who knows the city and can point things of interest out. The boat does not to be fancy.

The best way, not expensive (euro 8.50), with explanations of what you see is on a canal boat with others. See www.lovers.nl (nothing to do with lovers, his name is Lovers, with an o-sound, like in go). There is an English part on the web site. Try the night trip, same price, but with all the lights reflecting on the water really nice

If you really want to go without other tourist, you could rent a boat from them. the same website. euro 85 per hour

go to the site itself-- the boat docks --not hard to find -- then ask in English and see the rental boat itself on the "spot" --- tell the boat owner that you are 4 people and negotiate your way around. good luck -- you sound to be a first time traveller. you can not get this type of info via tel. calls or by e-mail, better be on the spot itself. what you see is what you get.
