I think he was already dropped from Paramount Pictures, if I'm not mistaken. His contract was up, and they didn't resign him, or he didn't resign himself.
Though most of us don't agree with his personal decisions, his acting career shows he is extremely talented, especially "The Last Samurai." I hope he continues to make movies, but I also hope that his parading on Oprah and his relationship with Katie Holmes is behind us.

Tom Cruise has her own production company. I'm sure he isn't hurting for money. Since he started acting weird last year I don't even go to his movies anymore.

Not only should we be sending thank you baskets to Paramount, we should be notifying Fox, UA, etc., that Tom Cruise movies are number one on our no-see list.

Even if there is, they will ignore it. He is now what is referred to as "box office poison" as many, many people will not go to see him in a movie because of his recent bizarre rants and behavior. He could cost the studio millions of dollars - they had to fire him, for economic reasons if nothing else.

The last good movie he was in was Top Gun. I don't even go to his movies any more. Not even War of the Worlds. That looked like it was a good one. I say its about time that they got rid of him.
