like on the candy bars and yogurt snacks? I mean it is stupid...the prizes looks encouraging but in the end, it is just crappy

No. It reminds me of the old carnival days with a "prize every time". You pay for what you get as the prize value is lower than the "game cost". It seems it is the American way. Cracker Jacks anyone?
There impulse of buying because there is something free or a contest entry is just taking advantage of human nature at it's best. People get paid very high salaries to "make up" these gimmicks.

I have great memories of the commercials I watched as a kid-getting the prizes in the cereal boxes etc. I think the main thing that helps a kid get more savvy about what they watch is time and maturity.
