For Americains:Why Israeliens your allied and best friends and why not the French and the Arabs?

Well back about 200 years ago USA and France were great friends. Hey I'm part French, but I'm also English, Swedish, Scottish, Native American, and probably German. I stick up for the French all the time, where I live there is actually a fairly large population. I think the U.S. doesn't like Arabs in general because even if they don't want to admit it they see them as second class citizens. They are to be used for their oil and when they have none left be forgotten about. As for the French maybe they are a little to close to the Arabs for Americas taste. Considering Europe and America had big parts in setting up Israel back in '49 we still try to protect them. Plus they are the only real ally in the Middle East that America has. There is nothing wrong with being French or any other nationality. People just don't take the time to understand the roots of their own culture let alone anyone else's.

Why are we allies with Israel? We made a commitment to the Israeli's in the 1940's. We promised to do what we could to give them a chance of a peaceful life. We don't cut and run on our allies. France does.

France never misses a beat when it comes to trying to humiliate the USA. Why is that? The French government has repeatedly tried to block the war on terror that the US and it's allies have waged. France isn't on our side and if they aren't on the side of those trying to defeat terrorism than they are for the terrorists. That is plain and simple. Your government would like nothing more than to see the United States fail. Failure for the United States government means hardship and potentially devastation to the American people. Are the French so jealous of what our country grew to be over the past 230 years that they need to make themselves feel superior by undercutting everything we do to try and help others? We bypassed France in every aspect of being a self reliant and prosperous nation over a century ago. Perhaps that is part of the problem. You can thank Chirac for why the majority of Americans feel the way they do. We Americans never saw the people of your country demanding that your President stand with us against the extremist. All we ever saw was Anti-American demonstrations. When WE needed France and its support the most, your country turned its back on us. If it wasn't for the United States the French citizens would be speaking German now. How soon your country forgets. Normandy.. the American soldiers that are interred there should be revered by your fellow countrymen. What happened to the sacred ground where they are buried? It was vandalized by the very descendents that those men who gave their lives fought to protect.

Don't ask us why the majority of Americans don't give a darn about the majority of the French. You tell me why we should.

I could write a long drawn answer full of specific reasons, but I guess it is easier to do the short form.

The Israelis aren't "our best friends" by a long shot, but America feels it is necessary to keep them from being "driven into the sea" by the "religion of peace." The islamists want to commit genocide against Israel and in case you have forgotten, we prevented Hitler from doing the same thing while the cheese eating surrender monkees were kissing Nazi butt.

The U.S. has been pretty good to arabs over the years as well. Just because we don't think the arabs should slaughter the jews doesn't mean we don't like them.

Americans used to like France and the French a lot. You really need to remember that you are French today and not German because we kicked the Germans out of your country for you, TWICE. In general, we don't like the French today because you seem to think that the best way to show your gratitude is to do everything in your power to undermine the U.S.A. every opportunity you get. We're tired of it and we've decided to ignore you until you wake up and smell the coffee or become just another fundamentalist islamic state.

78% of the French are against America. The terrorist acts against us were Arab based, by religious fanatics for the most part.

France: Because we gave our lives so you can survive after the Germans almost destroyed in WWI. Because we gave our lives so you could still have a country in WWII. Because we have always been there for you, and when President De Gaul didn't get airplanes and air support while you were dying in Vietnam..we became your worst political enemy. While you allowed the KGB to set up operations in France during the cold-war in your country, while you owe America your very existence, you treat us bad.

Arabs. Since "Black September", terrorist (Muslim Extremist)have killed over 8,096 Americans. Because Arab countries and leaders do not have the moral fortitude to destroy Muslim Extremist; because all the Arab Kings and Emirs can't stand up together and help against the war on terrorism. Because an Islamic Cleric issued a decree (declaration of war) so that Osama bin Laden can conduct a holy war against Christians and Jews. Because Islam is the enemy.

And by the way, France has lost since 1979 over 2,040 citizens to terrorist...and you lack the courage to fight them in Iraq and Afghanistan!
