And after hours of hard work you will be scraping with your finger nails, wiping with rags with flammable solvents irritated enough to kick your dog. I just have boot leather fingers I guess and roll off the residue, squeaking along with my fingers I don't like heat blistered paint or chemical solvents get into the paint and can be seen in the sun. One trick I learned was when pealing this 3M double sided mounting tape is drag from behind at a 45 degree slowly down and away or up and away and almost all comes off clean.

Put diesel on the tape so it desolves then use a soft rag and elbow grease to remove it.You may be able to buy a rubberwheel that attaches to a drill from your local bodyshop. We call them toffee wheels because they smell of toffee when we use them. They are used to remove trimlines from bodywork.(they are made by 3m)
You could use wd40,but diesel is cheaper and more effective.

use a heat gun , get the tape warm then Peel or roll off with your fingers - you don't have to get it real hot just warm . then you can remove the residue with goo remover. the little packets of band aid goo remover works good.
