x/a+y/b
=>x=ay/b.....(1)
and, ax+by=(a2+b2)
=> a.ay/b+by=a2+b2 (put the value of x from 1)
=> a2y/b+by=a2+b2
=> y(a2+b2 )=a2+b2 (b)
=> y=b
Putting y=b in x/a=y/b
x/a=b/b
=>x=a

x/a=y/b
we can introduce k, real, so that
y=kx
b=ka
ax+by=a^2+b^2
ax+axk^2=a^2+k^2a^2
ax(k^2+1)=a^2(k^2+1)
i) k^2+1=0 (no real solution)
ii) ax=a^2
a=x (if a=0 then x/a=y/b cannot be determined)
then b=y

there isn't even anything to solve. did a nine year old write this equation? quite simply, a=x, and b=y, giving you 1 = 1
