"Lifelong learning" is a common term used in education today. Lifelong learning is the concept that "It's never too soon or too late for learning", a philosophy that has taken root in a whole host of different organizations. Lifelong learning is attitudinal; that one can and should be open to new ideas, decisions, skills or behaviors. Lifelong learning throws the axiom "You can't teach an old dog new tricks" out the door. Lifelong learning sees citizens provided with learning opportunities at all ages and in numerous contexts: at work, at home and through leisure activities, not just through formal channels such as school and higher education.

I hope this helps.

Being A Lifelong Learner

A lifelong learner continues to learn throughout life, from a variety of sources. Ben Franklin is a good example. My grandmother went back to college at age 68 to get her real estate license. My mother in law learned to drive when she was 72. This can be formal or informal learning. The idea is learning because you want to, not because you get grades. There are senior learning activities all over the place, often at free or reduced rates.
