Chris and Normal1 are correct.
First - There always is a chance that a meteor will strike and hit the earth. If it is large enough and it hits an ocean, it will cause a tsunami and wipe out coastal areas. (if it hits land - That's a whole different story) This can happen in any ocean, not just the Atlantic. The Atlantic ocean does not have much seismic activity, so a meteor hit is the most likely cause of a tsunami.
Also - In the Canaries where a volcano on the island of La Palma will erupt (someday in the future), triggering a rock-fall of several hundred billion tonnes and causing a tsunami that will take out New York and the east coast of the US along with a lot of the coast of Europe and South America. However, this is still a possibility. Many argue that it will not happen and others say for sure.
But both possibilities above are very improbable in any given time period, but possible in the future. So don't worry about it.

Yes I think so. Some volcano in the Atlantic on an island near Africa is going to blow soon, sending tonnes of rubble into the ocean causing a mega-tsunami, though of course it will be difficult to predict when. Apparently, this has happened before.

That was a show on the Discovery Channel wasn't it? FYI Discovery Channel is thought of as quite laughable in the science community.
It is extremely unlikely on America's east coast. More likely in Europe where there is more tectonic activity.

No. A Tsunami can only happen in the pacific occean. Can't remember the name in the atlantic, but its not a Tsunami. Maybe just a really big wave...

yes every coast is because earthquakes cause tsunamis and they can happen anywhere but its more likely they'll happen near a fault line like the west coast

No. Certain scientists like to make outlandish predictions to scare people. Also, certain organizations like the History Channel and the major news departments like to scare people and be sensational to try and boost their ratings.
Scientists like to agitate and scare people because if no one was scared why would Congress vote money for research grants? Scientists can't live unless they get grants from the government to pay for their research.
