Yes. Those mean old scientists are just punishing Pluto because they thought it was getting uppity. Sometimes it even tried to sneak in closer to the sun than Neptune, which messed up their little mnemonic device for memorizing the location of the planets.

Addendum: Where are the PC police? Shouldn't they call Pluto a "little planet", or maybe planetoid?

Addendum2: How does the God of the Underworld feel about his celestial body being diminished in stature?

No. It isn't a planet. It never was. I'm glad we stopped calling it that.

Ok I need to add to this. You are saying "eclipse" when you mean "elipse", Answerer. Also, we don't think it's an asteroid, we think it's a comet. I've gone over the reasons for this time and time again (elliptical orbit, composition, location/time of creation). Astronomers are not angry or incapable of memorizing new information (take an astrophysics class and tell me how many of those equations you can remember).

In case we are still having problems with this let me offer this answer that I gave to a similar question just a few minuets ago...
"Oh my god. It's still in our "family" it's just called a dwarf planet or comet and not a planet now.

Building on your personification, it's as if you had a sibling who for years you thought was a little girl and your parents suddenly realized she was a boy. So you have a brother... he's still in your family.

Comets, asteroids, moons and our sun are all part of our Solar System but it is important to call them what they are."

Yes, because Pluto's eclipse is around the sun. The scientists are mad, they thought that 17 degree diagonal of Pluto's eclipse make Pluto as an huge asteroid. They are bad people. All of this happen after they found Sedna (The new planet). Damn.

Yes, I think Pluto should be a planet because it has been a planet for numerous, countless years.

Well it really doesnt matter what we think...because the guys in NASA have already decided that its not....My question to them is,what is PLUTO then(if its not a planet, not a moon, not a comet.etc.then what the hell it is...)
but this new decision regarding pluto has proved one thing...that we humans are really on a very PRELIMINARY stage of SPACE technology because at the moment we dont even have the capability to decide WHAT A PLANET IS?.....It amuses me,HOW THE HELL ARE WE GONNA REACH FOR OTHER STARS AND GALAXIES,if we are not even certain about contents of our solar system

ever since i was born, pluto is already a planet. now scientists are saying that it is not? what's wrong with them? first they say it is and then it is not? next thing we'll hear is that mars is not a planet or that there are no other galaxies, and what not.

of course Just bcoz it is the farthest or its orbit isnt in the same plane doesnt mean that we should exclude it from the planets category.Pluto revolves around the sun so, its aplanet
