is the thought of murder or incest as much of a crime of the mind as the actual act itself even if u do not perpetrate it but only imagine it?

Our thoughts have power and take physical form. When you think things, you are telling the universe that is okay for those events to happen to you or those close to you. Watch your thoughts as well as your actions.

Thoughts of incest are probably a sign you need therapy. Depending on the siutation, thoughts of murder can be a non-violent way to purge anger at someone. Usually the thought of the most extreme violent reaction makes us realize that is exactly the path we don't want to take.

it definitely is if you act upon either of those -- well at least in most states and countries incest is still very very illegal and murder is outright --- it is one of the oldest "don't do it or you will get into big trouble crimes" in the history of man.
and most would say that those are un-healthy thoughts too be having.i have mat one person in my life who thought his own mother was the hottest woman he had ever seen and most of the guys in the college i went too thought so as well, so i don't think it's uncommon but he never acted on it and neither did she.!!!

If you don't act upon it, then no I would not classify it as a "crime", a sin depending on your beliefs though.

morally u already sinned, civil law you are still innocent until there is transparence in the crime

Both are "taboos" (they're what most societies used as founding evils), therefore imagining it makes a criminal in front of your own conscious but not yet in society. Please, never cross this limit!
