What kind of "market research" are you wanting to do?

If you want to study customer trends, chat rooms, user groups (like those on Yahoo and even the Yahoo answers section for your field) and message boards can be helpful to see the problems and questions that your target market has.

If you have an existing client base and want to drive them to the web to fill out surveys, you can do a search on "free online survey program" and you will get plenty of sites that will allow you to create and post a survey for your website or that you can email a link to your clients that will bring them to a site to fill out the form. You'll probably need to offer them some kind of incentive to get a stronger response.

If you just want to research the competition, then you can use the advanced searches to see sites similar to and link to your competitor's site, or run a search on their domain name and/or phone number to see where they are on the web. The other trick to doing market research online is to have good search strings that will help you pull up the data you need and not the data you don't need. Don't be afraid to use very long word strings in search boxes, as that will reduce the number of results you get. You might consider using terms like "market research paper" as an exact string.

If you have more questions, you can contact me directly. Good luck.

Yes - there are already done researches + the best I feel is on chat sites, Blog forums and other forums. What is important is for you to find the correct market segment that you need to reach - When you pop the question, you should ensure that it is in the right chat room and right audience.

What are the benefits of using the Internet for market research?

The Internet provides unprecedented speed, while cutting costs drastically. With the elimination of telephones, paper, shipping, collating, and data entry, your research process becomes completely streamlined. Your cost per respondent goes through the floor while your rate of survey completion skyrockets.

If market research is faster online, what's the catch?

The catch is that in order to reap the benefits of faster survey response, faster data tabulation, and decreased cost, you need the technical resources and advanced know-how to make full use of what the Internet can do. StatSurvey's purpose is to remove the technical barriers from your road to efficient market research.

Does StatSurvey supply survey respondents?

Yes, if you need them. Some of our clients already have their own pool of specific respondents, often because they need to target a specific profession or private group. Other clients need to target by demographics, but do not have easy access to a targeted respondent pool. StatSurvey can supply a large sample of demographically targeted survey respondents if you don't have your own. We can also conduct surveys online for distribution to your pre-selected respondents. To learn more about our respondent pool, sign up for a free consultation.

How do online surveys get distributed?

If you use your own respondent pool, you will probably opt to have your survey conducted on a password-protected web site. If you use StatSurvey's demographically targeted respondents, they can access your survey either on the web, or via email. Your choice.

How are survey results instantly tabulated and graphed?

On the Internet, survey responses are transmitted right away, and they arrive in a convenient digital format. Our software automatically tabulates the incoming data and produces pie charts and bar graphs in real time. Survey results can sometimes be finished and ready for analysis within a few hours of the survey's launch.
