I make them feel guilty for their rudeness by being very nice and tactful... usually they apologize in the end :-)

It depends on several factors
1) If I am at work, I will probably be nice because I need my job.
2) What time of the month it is.
If I am not at work, and it is the bad week of the month, I am going toe to toe.

I hate to say but it depends the person.
I remember this Chris Rock story:
Someone who used to bully him as a kid turned out to be his limo driver one day. Chris gave him a *huge* tip, just to mess with his mind. I guess that would be called killing with kindness.
