Because the wool ON the sheep is in it's natural state. It hasn't been twisted and stretched into yarn (spun), and it hasn't been forced into a sweater shape (knitted or crocheted).
If it came on the sheep as a sweater, it would shrink on them too.

The wool on them DOES get tighter and more compacted after they come out of the rain! Maybe that's why sheep herders try to keep them dry?!!

cos sheep isn't made from wool her hair is wool and that hair i think should shrink in the rain shrinks... plus sheep's are constantly geting hair cut ...so no they shouldn't shrink.

They do, the thing is they are usually dampened before any of us non-farmers see them. They are naturally HUGE! But once moisture touches them they shrink, really fast too. Oh, and it only takes a little moisture.

rain is not HOT, if you wash sweaters in cold and let dry natural no shrinkage. Funny how Mother Nature can teach us about fabrics.
