Depends on what you want one for, what budget you have, how you are gonna use it etc......its not easy to answer the question without knowing those things but I'll try.....
If you want a High-powered sportsbike, then go for a Yamaha R-series (R1/R7/R6) or a Kawasaki Ninja series bike......they have the most outright performance for a reasonable amount of money (the new Ducati and MV Agusta bikes will outperform them but are hideously expensive)
If you buy into the whole 'biker' image and want a weekend ride to look good on sunny holidays, buy a Harley, no other bike gives you that image or is as charismatic
If you want one for touring around the world (or country) then get a BMW K-series.....they come with every possible feature to make these journeys painless and have lots of safety features like synchronised ABS and the like
If you just want a basic Commuter bike then the lower-spec Honda CB-series should do the job without a fuss.
Hope this helps

Well, my Honda is about 27 years old. The motor may be slightly newer as the previous owner put it together from a box of parts that appear to have been slightly mismatched.
However, there is no one best. *In the hands of an experienced rider,* Goldwing is great for long distance riding and a Yamaha R6 is great for running flat-out on a racetrack. Switch the two around, though, and the Goldwing will not be the fastest, and the R6 will be horribly uncomfortable for a 2,000 mile road trip. If you are a newbie, a vital component of "best" is that it is easy to ride, forgiving, and predictable.
Some bikes that are good at being first bikes include most 250-750 cc cruisers, most single cylinder dual sports (basically, large street legal dirt bikes), the Kawasaki Ninja 250 and 500, the Buell Blast, and the Suzuki GS500. You'll probably want a 500 if you want to do freeway riding, although the Ninja 250 can keep up with highway traffic too.

the new style of motorcycle engines has been around for 30 years, there isn't really a bad motorcycle.
Honda has a spirit that the others do not. Soichiro Honda started making bikes in the 1940's to get Japan mobile again. Little motors fixed to bicycles, then 125 motorbikes, 250, 305 etc. The company is not just about making money but rewarding creative ideas from employees - look at the quad bikes, Gold Wing, the first 750-4, even the little Dax monkey bike.

Honda isn't a type of motor, it's a brand name. Honda makes big V-twins, inline 4s, single cylinder 4-strokes and even a horizontally opposed 6-cylinder in the Gold Wings.
Or were you asking what the best type of MOTORCYLE is?
If you can't put together a coherent question, perhaps the learning curve of a motorcycle is too much for you.

Hi
Well - it all depend on the application and what you plan to use it for. I have a Honda ATV with a 350cc motor - never failed and runs great - even half submerged.
I also have a Harley - it is awesome for cruisin' and I love it. Can't use the Harley in the bush and I can't use the Honda for cruisin'
