people often say we are proud of india. but when asked what and how, they just smile blankly.

I am proud to be an Indian because we had many great peoples like Swami Vivekananda who found truth of life.Had their Jesus found that.We had great leaders like Lomanya Tilak,Lal Bahadur Shastri etc. who showed their wisdom and very desperate qualities right from childhood.We have kept alive million years old history still alive i.e.Ramayan,was such ideal person born in foreign countries.In short we have glorious past.
From historic times till today many have invaded our land,but we never did dat on others' land.We always urged for friendship and co-orporation.We protested against some unjust wars,but not on attacks by America on Israel,because you know.There are many drawbacks,but we'll try to change the system.

i'm proud of india kuz india is very diffrent from other county. india is very unique. it's like a dimand. plus indian ppl has a pure heart. everyone is connected by emotions. everybody helps each other. they belive in nonviolence which is inspired from 'MAHATMA GANDHIJI'. he was a really nice person that other country didnt have. now a days, everybody in the world know gandhiji. they respect him.
everybody is crazy for yoga now adays which is belongs to india. they r also crazy for indian style clothes.
isnt that enough to be proud of india? i think it is....and ur america doesnt have these all things to be proud . hmm thats sad for americans.
i wish i'll be an indian for my next born.

This is a topic related to human behaviour you see all person have proud for there country rather they are from Sri lanka coz they took birth in that country so theire emotions also related with country. Nay be this is the reason of your question.

we don't have any reason ,
when we compare our country to others
very neutrally i thought,
but
I hurt when I read ..........
u need not any reason
to say that i m proud of my parents
and so i can say
i really don't know,
but
I m proud of my motherland,
not India ......... "Bharat"
politicians r busy to change
the name of Bombay to Mumbai and
Madras to Chennai
but they don't remember
East India Co. change our motherland's name...
We have
spiritual power, culture ,
and humanity which strengthens
us to live our life..........
and we enjoy life,
