Yes, I liked it all the way. Read it 4 times already. The right kind of humor that we all need in life. The confusion created by the name, the scenes that lead to a happy ending and above all it's the importance of how a person carries oneself in life, appealed to me. More than given names, how our past was or where we were born, it's the character of an individual which if of utmost importance...basically it overshadows every human flaw by rewarding us with expected end.

I don't like giving people the answers, so my suggestion would be to look back to any notes you took. I would also take further notes by re-reading the play. I know you said it's not your strong point, but try one more time and see how it goes. :) Then watch the movie, and do the same thing. Take notes. From what I can recall, the setting, characters, events and resolution themselves were pretty much the same, but there were a few changes that are perhaps easier to miss. I think the personality of one of the women was changed a little, for instance. (I may be wrong though, so please don't quote me on that - but do look for things like that! Also look for the ages of the characters. There's a bit of a big change there.)

"Importance of Being Ernest" is an amazing play, and Oscar Wilde is an amazing playwright.
If you liked "Importance of Being Ernest", I would recommend you to read another one of his plays, called "An Ideal Husband".

It's not one of Oscar Wilde's masterpieces, he's written much better works, but it's a very charming light, comedy. With his trademark witty interplay of words. You should certainly read it, if you like that kind of thing.

I think it's "The Importance of Being Ernest". It was a lightweight amusing piece, though I can't understand why people thought Oscar Wilde was so great.

One of the funniest things I've ever read. Witty and smart. They just don't make comedies like that anymore.
