Well one thing people idolized people that they could never be like.
Scarface was one mean bad ****** but in the end he went out in one hell of a blaze of gun fire and glory.
People think that it would be cool to die that way when in reality it is a very dumb way to go out.
Sure people will talk about how you were a hero to stand up to the MAN, but they them self are weak, so they make and idle out of the criminal.
It is not smart but who said that evryone of us is smart.

Scarface is probably the best movie ever, interesting plot, great actor Al Pacino, and a reality that is always present how you can be betryed by your friends and in the end we die alone

The reason is because of the gangster lifestyle. A lot of rappers such as Raekwon uses samples from the movie. It is one of the greatest movies that Al Pacino has ever made.

I don't think it was Scarface per se, I think people are attracted to someone who has charisma whether it's good or bad in society's eyes is immaterial.

He was one of the great Americans. There is an age difference , but I would rather see him as president rather than tree, strike that, I mean a bush, and then a very sad one at that.

It is not idolized by so many people, it is idolized by insecure men who try to show that they are a "stud." If you don't get it, you are emotionally mature and a good catch. Too bad, I am married (and my husband loves stupid movies like that).

Because it's a classic gangster film. The american dream and nightmare rolled into one and it was pretty close to reality at that time.
